Once again our friend and AMC parts supplier AMARK has come up with another much needed part.
Mark is now producing an excellent reproduction carb spacer for 70-72 4300 carbs. I have been testing the new spacer for Mark for a few weeks on my AMX and it's another first class part. I highly recommend this and any other parts produced by AMARK! We need to support vendors like Mark that go one step beyond to get us the rare parts that we need. Well done mark and thank you !! I don't need one, but I still appreciate Mark's efforts to provide first class parts.

Thanks to Amark for another great product. The spacer looks like a big improvement over the stock spacer, where the PCV boss would easily break off. Amark has had a huge impact on the quality of AMC restorations. Keep up the good work.

One of the few parts on my list that I need for my present project. I was figuring it to be a tough find.
Thanks for this info. I'm sure the part will be an excellent reproduction as are all of Mark's items.

I was VERY VERY VERY lucky 3 or 4 years ago to find a NOS spacer still in the package listed on eBay. I jumped all over it and really glad I did as you just don't see NOS versions and used are also nearly impossible. Even in the early 70s when I worked on these cars when they were months to just a few years old those got broken - those and the 2bbl version the nipples broke off. We'd drill and insert a steel or copper nipple for repairs but then it's just not the same. I've also run across these spacers (and the 2bbl version) where one of the "ears" or corners was cracked or broken off and folks have tried to use sealers to hold things in place and seal the vacuum leak. Someone didn't clean the intake well, or cranked down on one corner instead of evenly and properly torquing the nuts like they should be...snap! And when intakes got swapped with a taller version, the spacer had to go especially if it had ram air hood so they got broken, tossed and lost. From the picture this is a very nice true to the original reproduction and if like his other stuff, only Mark and few others would ever be able to tell if it was live or Memorex (for those of you old enough to remember that little advertising bit) Another much needed part finally in our hands again. Oh, I paid nearly that for the NOS part years ago so his price is probably spot-on as well. If you are shooting for a real nice restoration or even fixing up a daily driver as it should be - there's the much requested spacer. Now go show him the hollering for these spacers wasn't just kicking tires - there it is, go buy it! Edited by billd - Oct/29/2013 at 6:09am |

I need one of these really bad and I just sent Mark a note asking about the out of stock status on his website. I have my fingers crossed.
I am currently running one out of an ambassador (not sure of the year). I cobbled together some luan wood laminated to it in an attempt to get the correct thickness. That was in 2007 and the correct thickness now escapes me. I would measure mine but I am sure I only got it "close". Anybody out there have the specs for this item? If Mark is unable to make any more I have some access to the possibility of making a one off. Or better yet does anyone have one to sell? Thanks |
