If you have $600.00 to waste, then do it. That's as clear as I can say it.

From what I can see in the 2 pictures and whay they say "not on a 390 block" is the ends of the Progrem caps look like they are "hanging" in the air. If that is the case then the caps would be distorted as the outer bolts dont clamp to the block like the stock ones do.
Then again it could be the picture but if the program caps dont have a machined surface to sit on then it is a wate also in my book.

Yes, you are correct that the outer section of webbing on the 390 will not support the caps at the outer bolts. ARP Chevy Big Block 2 bolt main studs without windage tray provisions are the ones we use for our 390 and 401's.

I guess I will leave the block just the way it is.all I want to get out of this engine is 500hp constant.nothing over or close to 600 so I guess I will be safe enough.
Thanks for all your help.I know I saved alot of money by your information.
Rich.

Hi,
Can the "Chevy Big Block 2 bolt main studs" be used for the 68' 390's?
I found ARP bolts for head but not for main....

Yes, the ARP CBB 2 bolt 1/2" dia main studs will work on 290, 304, 343, 360, 390 & 401 AMC Engines.

I am sure that Steve likes the Milodon, I like the ARP.

For some reason the Milodon AMC stud kit differs from Milodon's BBC 2 bolt main stud kit. In any event Summit list the AMC version for $72.00 and the BBC for $70.00. I've used Milodon's before and liked their quality and fit.
