Does anyone have a 68 style scissor jack they may want to sell?  I don't mind blasting and painting, but want one that will clean up nicely and not frozen.   I was hoping to find one at Auburn, but didn't see anything there.

Thanks
Tim

1968 cars didn't have a scissor jack. They had a bumper jack. Scissor jacks started in 1971 and are hard to find and expensive.

This is for an AMX, guess I should have specified.   Every 68/69 AMX that I has seen has a scissor style jack.  Also, there are no slots int he bumper for a bumper jack.

Thanks,
Tim

Aaah, yes. That explains it. I have one but i believe it's for a later AMC because it's in it's original light blue paint. I can show you a pic if you wish.

Sure if you have pic send it to me. I believe the 68 jack had the metal piece welded on the top of the jack.  I have a picture of what I believe to be correct, but I haven't bothered to upload it anyplace so I can attach the pic to this post.   Maybe I should do that...

This is what the "correct" jack should be. I'll give Tim first chance at it and if he doesn't take it, it will be available for $150.00 plus shipping.

That blue one is not correct for a 68, it is a late 70s early 80s Jack..

I looked at an internet pic of a "correct jack" and this one i posted a pic of. They look identical, except for color. As for part numbers and such i didn't know where to look and i didn't see any.
