Hey there Matty.. I was told by a very good friend... who knows way more than me... that this would not be worth it at all because it would require basically hacking it all up into pieces and basically using a lot new tubing. He said if he were going to do it.. he'd just start with a custom flange and build a custom header from scratch. Clifford is the only company that makes a header for a 258 in the U.S. and they are not very good. I have read several times over the years that the quality of Clifford's stuff is not good out of the box. Clifford parts all need some degree of modification to work properly. The only other thing I would mention is that I am friends with several VAM guys from Mexico on Facebook and the Mexican 258 headers do show up there from time to time. I would say if you are on Facebook to friend some VAM guys and like their VAM pages. They have the edge on AMC I-6 performance parts South of the boarder.

That would be nice to have have a matching set but just so you know.. there is no significant advantage to the intake with the 2100 flange. Its not any better than the later 81 and later aluminum intake.

I would just use an Offenhauser 5451 adapter... its the best one.

There are other versions made by different manufacturers but I have read they don't seal as well. I have this adapter and its a good piece. I haven't used it yet but I got a stupid good ebay deal on it... along with an original AMC 2100 1.08 carb... so I just couldn't pass it up.

It can certainly be had with the right parts. I would say you are halfway there with the 2100 carb upgrade. You might also want to consider the MIU as well.

Also... I also deleted ALL my emissions stuff.... no AIR tube... or AIR pump... no cat... no emissions related vacuum lines. My car runs way better now. Once all that is all deleted.. technically you can delete the computer too... which is what I am going to do once I put on the 2100. After the feedback carb is gone.. the computer no longer has a real job to do.

You can get plugs for the AIR ports at NAPA... don't remember the part number but they are available specifically for our cars. Mine are blocked. One of the best things I ever did. It made the engine overall quieter... especially once that gerbil cage AIR pump is gone! LOL...
