Go big and replace the carbs with a couple fast throttle body  fuel injection sets you can run gas or e85
They have a o2 sensor you set the air fuel ratio that you want then just drive it
You can set a leaner for street driving then turn it up at the track

Imo, if for a couple hundred bucks or even $500 you can get it back together, do it. It's only a few weekends worth of work, and you probably have to spend a lot of $ to get the big motor together, not to mention a season or 2 slips by very quickly when building a new motor. It was a thought if you build the big one with indy heads you will need a pair of 950s or 1050
Mine likes the 1050 dominators and its only 421

Big engine would need $2500 worth of valve train, could just build it and use the mech cam for a yr

Thats the way its looking right now, I think I can hone most of the ugly away and set ring gap tighter and still be ok.
