An AOD is a Ford overdrive transmission. I did a search and couldn't find an adapter to a Ford trans.

Ah, here I thought AOD was an abbreviated term for Automatic Over Drive.

The 1969 390 crankshaft flange will need to be machined when installing a GM automatic with over drive. Keep in mind the AMC 390 is externally balanced from the flywheel to the harmonic balancer.

AW4 from a mid 90s Cherokee has same bolt pattern, but you need a crank flange adapter for pre-72 engines. This tranny is rated at 450 ft kbs, so ok for a stock 390 but you'd probably need to beef it up for a modified engine. See the separate AW4 threads as well.

Try contacting Advanced Adapters directly. As a side note the 6R80 looks like a far better Ford transmission to try to get into. Rated up to 1000 HP, 6 speeds and fewer internals - got to like that.
