Been meaning to scan this for a while…bought a '72 technical service manual on ebay, and this newspaper article (from somewhere in California) was between pages.

Cool article, thanks for posting!  I was only 6 at the time, but I do remember watching the BCTV evening news (with Tony Parsons) the night they announced that Chrysler was buying AMC. I knew very little about cars back then, but I do remember asking my illustrious father who they were and what they built and he replied "Jeeps and a bunch of junk".  I'm sure he'd be rolling in his grave to learn I now own four of those "junk" cars. LOL

I still find it funny that the Jeep brand has been such a curse. Willys, Kaiser, AMC, Chrysler all had acquired Jeep and all were brought to their knees (though not necessarily because of Jeep). Wonder if Fiat will stumble as well?

I remember it well, I was 30 and had 2 amc.
I thought parts might get hard to get.
