Hey everyone,

I'm looking for your personal experiences with battery charger/maintainers.

I'm needing a battery maintainer that I can leave hooked up to my car battery for long storage perods and not have to worry about it malfunctioning.

What battery maintainer have you guys been using and which ones have the best features.

Thanks,

Armand

Armand,

I have several (Eastwood, Battery Tender, DieHard and CTEK).  I bought the them in that order and the CTEK seems to keep the best order.  I have a Antique Auto Battery Reproduction Lead Acid for my 69 AMX and it has so far lasted 7 years on the CTEK.  I have two different CTEK's, the Model US 3300 is on this battery and I have a US 7002, which I really like to bring things back and has a lot of settings, but is twice the price.   I have the DieHard on my forklift and it is terrible and allowed two batteries ot go out.  The Battery Tender brand died in 6 months and they repalced under warranty, but the second one failed after another year.  I have the Eastwood on a customer car and is has flaked out twice (shut off by itself), I just put the CTEK US 7002 on it after the second issue and no problems.  I bought all my CTEK's off amazon, they had the cheapest price I could find.  Hope this helps.

I have 2 of the CTEK US3300 models. One on my motorcycle and one on my AMX. Both stay on all winter without problems. They monitor the charge level and turn themselves on/off.

I have maintainers made by Schumacher. I bought them on Amazon and have used them for several years. They appear to have extended the lives of my batteries by a matter of years.
