Scott,
Do you have any book or information about the Carter YF?

I had a bunch of "how to" diagrams and rebuild steps at one time when I was playing with my yf carb.
(That's the engine and carb in Rapid Delivery)
I can dig it up and photo copy for you.

I suspect yours just needs a float adjustment.

Having AMC Fun,
Ollie

Ollie, please send the information. It will be really helpful. All I have is the Chilton manual.

I have no idea what year your car is. But I strongly recommend you get the same year TSM for your car..  (Technical Service Manual) the TSMs was what the dealer mechanics used  in the day. Its much better than the chiltons.

i second the TSM. it will be the best money you'll ever spend on your car. you;ll see once you get one. get an original if you can, even if beat up. the images and color diagrams are fantastic.

Keep the TSM on the nightstand by your bed or in the bathroom or den, wherever you like to read.  The plot can get thin at times, but you will find things you never knew and become a Rambler guru in your neighborhood.  Seriously, every AMC owner should have the correct TSM for his car.   And if you ever sell the car, pass it on to the next owner.   Joe

LOL HAHA no exactly! and you're spot-on about the knowledge -- even in ye olden dayes, a heck of a lot of thought and engineering went to the cars, and in those days, the manuals. they're written for insiders.

after a while you can read between the lines, and see what they DONT mention, usually problems never really solved (just how in @#$@#$ did AMC assemble the lower A-arms on the pre-64 americans!). but in general, the level of detail and deep lore is amazing.
