Too big or too small? I returned a 12 ton still in the box because it felt a little light and decided to get from Kijiji what was advertised as a 20 ton. Turns out it is a 30 ton and that beast weighs about six times more.

I have been using the Harbor freight 12 ton press for going on 15 years now and while it is not the picture of robust health, it also has not failed to do what I wanted to do with it and that includes pushing bearings off the end of axle shafts and getting things to work like bushings out of front end parts and such. I probably use one more so than most people but in a full blown shop environment something heavier would probably be a good idea but 6 times heavier is probably harder to move around when and where needed. But if the price was the same? Why not. But for my hobby work, it has gotten the job done and been worth what I paid for it.
