If just one side turn signal works and the other doesn't flash, is that a problem with the steering column switch or the flasher regulator? I've checked all bulbs and they all light up and the two wires inside the bulbs are not broken. Bulbs are 1157's

Thanks

The lock plate for the steering wheel locking function is not used on the 69 and earlier cars. The upper outer collar is a press fit and that's what the tool is for. It hooks under the rolled flange and then acts in the same manner as a gear puller. I'm still surprised that you can't get the switch out without removing the outer cover. I assume that you removed the turn signal lever and the emer.flasher knob. Then you must push the emer. flasher stub in. Remove the three retaining screws and jimmy the switch up and out. Be sure to unplug the wire connector and get some slack in the flat cable to give yourself some play in the cable to allow you to pull the switch upwards.
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.
