hi all, im new to the forum. I just purchased a 63 classic and the cowl/firewall are rusted worse than I thought when I was checking the car out before I got it home. I was wondering if there are replacement panels for repair or is it something ill need to fab.

Peter Stathes makes a repair panel which replaces a lot of the cowling floor on the right side, just above the heater core. His email is ifoundit@amcrambler.com.   There are several threads here on the forum about cowling repair.

Thanx for the reply. Most of the rust is on driver side wher upper kick panel, inner tender, coal, and firewall meet.
Same on passenger side, just not as bad. Above heater box appears ok.

From rebuilding mine (still not done on drivers side) I think the easiest way to gain good access may be to take the clamshell outter part of the side off by driling out the spotwelds. Do all the repairs then spot weld it back on.

You're almost definitely going to end up pulling the dash and fenders.

Once fixed they hold up well, AMC/Rambler did not get any paint or sealant on those panels as the cars only had to  last a "few" years....

Thanx wrambler. I was planning on pulling dash n fenders, I'll see what u mean about clamshells when I get that far. For now, I have to replace the pinion seal and get the shifter working right so I can get it inspected n titled. Then I'll start fixing the cowl.
