I've got a Lunati Voodoo 262/268 in my 390 with air and auto, but haven't ran it yet so can't give you any details on how I like it. I think it's about as radical as I'd want to go with automatic and ac, 2400 stall converter.

I have that same lunati cam in my 304 in my Jeep and it is a noticable idle but nothing to crazy even in a 304.

Call some camgrinders and tell them what you trying to do.
You need to idle + retard detonation and still run good. It can be done. I had a stocker cam ground back when you had to run stock lift and duration just more under the curve. Cam Dynamics ground me one that met spec, idled at 600 and added 30 hp to the top end. I did retard it 4* though, they said I could go to 6-8* for more top end. Goodluck, Ron. |
