So maybe that 68-74 AMX/Jav V8 possibility is more likely??

Back on page one of this thread are the listings, hard to say what that one is.
I always tried to mark or tag parts as best I could when getting them just for this reason...

Yup if hindsight were 20/20 as they say it would be marked. I looked back at the list from page one but don't see what shows the difference between the small or larger cars on that list, am I missing something (which would be no surprise)?

Bernie, I waited for more input after your pix were uploaded. Mainly because this thread was about small car cross members. The engine cross member you got looks very much like mine, but I don't think 71 on up to 78 had paint. Bare metal was stock on both my 71 and 73 Javelins. Not only that there is a hole spacing difference with large body vs small, there is noticeable offset to push the engine forward from cross member center on small body. So once you take note of how the engine mount seems to protrude forward, identifying small body cross member should be easier. Javelin and Matador are big body, since you questioned. I am sure there is some minor differences between the years, as there are different part numbers, just think there was years when black paint was used, and years when not. Billd noticed that with suspension parts, as AMC went back to painting components in the early 80s. |
