Hello, I need to do some wiring across the front of my 1979 AMX Spirit. Some one, maybe the PO cut the wires that branch off and go to the head lights and horn on the right side of the car. The main headlight harness runs down the left side from the firewall. There is a group of 8 wires (all ground wires) shown in my Haynes manual that are all connected where the harness branches off to the right side. Haynes manual is all I have, not sure if a factory TSM is more clear on these ground connections. How did AMC connect these 8 wires together is my main question. Were they just soldered or did they use a special connection for this. Any help would be grateful. Thanks Paul

Thought this might be an easy answer. Hoping there's a electrician specialist here on the forum that has run a group of wires together the way AMC did for the grounds. My only guess for this, is to solder the wire together off the main ground from the firewall connection. Tell me if this is the wrong way or if you know of a connection/terminal that will work in place to join the bunch of wires. Thanks again Paul

You can do it however you want to to make it work, it's only ground. But, generally, they were soldered in a bunch somewhere before being taped into the wire harness. Sometimes you can tell where by following the loom and feeling it and it will get thinner or thicker depending on which way you follow it. You can razor blade it open at that point if you want to rebuild it from there to make it more correct.
