Dog-leg ports say they're not FOR a '68 390...or not one with stock heads.
Does that help?

Yes you are correct. It is a 70 390 in a 68 body. So what brand of header do you have to bang a dent into to clear the starter? |

Looks like my old cheapo Hedman... Even have the same dent in the 4th pipe on the passenger side... They worked fine though...

I'm using Hedmans on our Grem. If I were using a stock started I would have had to dent the passenger header too. But, the headers we have have the Hedman label on them. You can see it in this picture. (They were dusty form hanging in my garage for over a year.) |

After bashing one of the tubes for the mini-starter (old one), the Hedman headers fit well and with high quality header gaskets, haven't had a leak in a long time.

Cool...
Thanks Guys. I was hoping that Hedman would be the verdict. The guy that I got them from said that they had been on his car for years and he didn't remember what brand they were. |
