Has anyone on here used Hoosier DO6 compound slicks . Do they hook good and what were your ET's , 60fts and weight of the cars that they were used on ? I just bought a set of 29/11/15 Hoosier slicks with the DO6 compound and they don't seem to be as soft as my old 28/11.5/15 M/T slicks and the sidewall is also stiffer . I'm beginning to worry if they will hook like my old M/T's.

My car is heavier at 3600 lbs race weight . With a M/T drag slick my 71 AMX did a 1.49 60ft with the wheels in the air . I found the Hoosier to be 5 lbs heavier per slick but running tubeless this time my wheels are 41 lbs each . They were 41.8 with tubes in the M/T .

Paul if you have any problem with air lose in the slicks put the tubes back in, the reason I say this is in Nov. 2013 I was running a set of MT slicks on my s/gas 67 nova chassis car no tubes in tires, at the 300 ft mark at the track 1/8 mile. I had the left rear tire go flat car took a hard left hit the wall, went in air, landed backwards and went across track and hit other wall, I repaired car and sold it got the Spirit as partial trade for car. I will never run without tubes again. all drag slicks are tub type tires. here is a couple pic's of my nova, and 1 of Spirit. I put the engine and trans from Nova in Spirit. you should be good with Hoosers.

If that Spirit in the pic can hook with the Hoosier DO6 compound , my 71 AMX should hook . BTW , that Chevy II Nova looks wicked !

the spirit and nova have the same chassis. the only diff is Spirit chassis is 12 inches shorter, nova ran 5.70 1.18 60 ft little bigger tire 32/16/15 MT . AFTER I HIT THE WALL I JUST COULDN'T RACE CAR ANY MORE,SO I SOLD IT. the spirit is a much more stable car. I am going to tri race it this Sat at Lakeland, the reason I don't race it more is I am 71 years old. and money is tight if someone wanted to race car I would be open to that, because I don't have the $$$ thanks Gary or a sponsor

I am running 29.5x10.5W D06 Hoosiers, 60' times with cal-tracs is 1.51 to 1.55 depending on track conditions. It has hooked to a 1.48 but was an ideal night. They are a bit prone to tire shake if you let too much pressure out with cal tracs. This is a 3000 lb car without driver, making between 450 and 500 HP.

My 71 AMX race weight was 3600 LBS and ran a best of 11.05 @ 119.4 , best 60ft was 1.49 . I hope to drop my race weight down to 3400 - 3450 this year . Do you guys have an idea of what air pressure I should run on my new Hoosier DO6 29/11/15 slicks with no tubes ?

Start around 9 to 9.5 lbs and work down until they shake.. I run 8.0 lbs but if the track really hooks they can shake below 8.5, and it affects my 60' by a tenth or so.
