Just looked and they do make a lower mod man intake for stock OEM heads. These intakes are quite innovative, as the top section comes in 4 different configurations that can simply be bolted on. A single quad top, dual quad top, 3x2 barrel top and a roots blower mount.   I'm surprised I havent seen a lot of these being used on modded AMC V8's especially the roots blower version!

It's more of a show piece than a performance piece in my eyes.  Probably the best blower intake available though.  But way better choices available for naturally aspirated.

630 bucks for the blower manifold is not bad at all. If I wanted an AMC with a 6-71 this would be hard to resist.

The basic design is an open large plenum with short runners.
this means you will never achieve a "Ram effect"in a similar
manner as the Offy dual quad manifold manifold never does
no matter what adapters you may stack on it.

On the other hand I can only think of two aftermarket intakes
that do reach a tuned ram effect. the Eddelbrock tunnel ram and
cross ram. There may be others.

IMO the worst compramise in intake manifolds is the "Torker".
8 different runners at compramise angles and lengths.
But it is the best thing we have.

When i built my manifold i was not aware of the Mod Man.
They are similar and have two minor differences. I have an inch
longer runner length and a spoiler in the plenum to kill
the Coanda effect across the plenum floor. (many manifolds have a similar feature).

I see nothing wrong with the Mod man, and with some care in tuning it should
run awesome.

This mopar has the 3 2 barrel top on the mod man intake and it seems to have worked quite well. If you read the description he explains that they need some massaging out of the box to match them to the motor. Seems like a very wild motor....in another video he states its making 652 horsepower with that intake, so It seems like these intakes can support a lot of power. That car ran 9.90's at 11,000 ft.

I've always been intrigued with a completely stock looking car, meaning interior exterior wheels etc etc....but with the one exception being a 6-71 blower sticking out of the hood, this intake would definatley be the way to go I think for an idea like that.

No offense if you know the guy in that video but if you look at the rest of his stuff, he's a full blown idiot.  I would take any numbers from him with a grain of salt.  You also forgot to mention the two stages of nitrous.

I do note your points about this manifold. Seems like it is all built around providing for the masses than building for all around performance.

If anything the only option I see with the setup is blower, if you are in need for such an intake.

All the other options are for the expense of looks and the ability to run all out above 6K and beyond.

I really like your design Boris, as it is balanced for street strip, and looks good to boot.

Now if someone was willing to make a custom top cover for the IM that will address incorporating internal short runners to tune for mid range and/or a butterfly plenum for dual modes to allow low end power. Then the setup will be worth while on a street car.

Honda V6 manual cars from 2008 on up to 2012 have an electronic valve setup inside the manifold. It closes below 4K to allow a full plenum for low to mid range power. Since this type of manifold is similar in having such an open area to work with, such a mechanism could be fabricated for dual purpose.
