Hi. This is Al at Control Freak Suspensions with an update on new development projects.
We are currently working on the 1974-78 Matador Coupe series of vehicles. The Independent Front Suspension (IFS) system is being fitted, and the 4-link coil over rear suspension system has already been completed. We expect testing to begin late next week. Thanks to Jerry at American Performance Products in Cocoa, Florida for supplying the car. It's not the prettiest in the world, but it is straight. Jerry will also provide us with the Classic and Marlin for the next systems. If you get a chance, get on line and view his products at www.oldcarparts.com .
As you may know, last month we completed the 1970 Rebel & Rebel Machine vehicles, completely outfitted with an IFS, 4-link coil over rear system, sub-frame connectors and headers. Way cool. Those systems are now tested and ready to roll. Our last group of vehicles, the 65-66 Classic and the 65-66 Marlins are the final cars, which should get underway next month and be ready after the first of the year. We will also look at the Eagle a little later on. Just wanted to keep everyone up to date. Best to all, Al

Our 1974-1978 Matador Coupe suspension is coming along fantastically. Seems the more systems we do, the easier they get. The Independent Front Suspension (IFS) system K-member has been fitted, as have the lower control arms, spindles, custom steering arms, Upper coil over brackets, sway bar kit and new sway bar mounting brackets. We should have it finished by the first week of December, just in time for over-the-holidays testing on the street and track.
We still have to configure upper control arms to ensure correct negative roll, positive caster, good camber and zero bump-steer. Once we plow through that it all gets easier. We'll keep you updated on our progress. Oh, by the way, our sale on our tubular control arms & coil over conversion kits have gone amazingly well, so we are going to extend the sale through the end of November for all Forum members. Big savings just in time for gift giving. Best regards, Al |

It is finally done!
I am pleased to announce the birth of our new suspension products for the 1974-1978 Matador Coupe.
Control Freak Suspensions now offers a full bolt-in Independent Front Suspension (IFS), 4-link coil over rear suspension and front sway bar kit for the 1974-1978 Matador Coupe. The systems are very similar to all of our other AMC systems, but they are dimensionally different and have quite a few unique parts. The IFS is a true bolt-in system that ensures almost perfect bump-steer and outstanding overall geometry. Handling, control , safety and performance...way cool. For the rear suspension system there are only two weld-in brackets. All the rest is bolt-on. Bring your Matador Coupe into the new millennium. We are now taking orders for January 2014 delivery. Thanks for all of your support and have a great holiday.

Restoring my first classic, a 1976 matador. Have a few question for the online experts of amc autos. Where is the main fuse box location. And is there any tips on replacing a manual fuel pump? Thanks for any help

Fusebox is in glove box, replacing a mechanical fuel pump is just like any other...2 bolts to block and remove (After taking fuel lines off of course)
