Picked up my new windshield today.

I was pleasantly surprised to see it is tinted. Looking forward to seeing all the glass installed, everything is on hand. Waiting on my glassman, John.

Rapid is going to be super cool with his new sun shades on !!!!!!

Great time in Springfield, MO> I saw 8 AMC products !! Almost amazing.

Carpet is installed in Rapid........

Rapid is really coming on now. Seems as if everything is a big leap forward. Seats and belts in.....

Just a few finishing touch's now. The roof vent has to be up graded a bit. I need to make some inside trim pieces because of the new head liner. I have the same issue with the mirrors. I will see how the roof vent goes.

Hope to get to the trim shop for some stripping next week.

Got the roof vent put on. My plan for the trim worked out great.

Took Rapid to the trim shop for some stripping and lettering. Should be a big improvement. Tim said to come and get it Wed morning.

Had a pleasant surprise regarding the fuel gauge. I had replaced both the sending unit and gauge. I remember all to be working correctly. I do remember filling it with non ethanol fuel.

Now kicks in the "old timers"........

When I got everything re-wired and working I only was showing 1/4 tank of fuel. I drove around the area a bit and the gauge dropped a bit. On the way to the trim shop I filled it with gas. It took $20 to fill it and the gauge went to full.

Looks as if I must have siphoned off some gas in the past year and a half.......heck I can't even remember what I had for breakfast !!!!

Picked up Rapid Delivery from the trim shop. I think he is looking mighty cool !!

He goes to his first local show June 16. Don't think I can talk the wife into taking him to Lufkin.

All I have left to do is finish up the doors. That won't happen until we get back from our big vacation in August. Still have to do something with the wheels.

Rapid cut me for a flip yesterday......

We took Rapid to the grocery store and all was fine. Made a couple of stops on the way home and he was getting harder and harder to start.

I changed the points and condenser. I had some good NAPA points. After doing that; I had no fire at the points. Put on a spare coil that I know was good. Still no fire.

I pulled the distributor out of the 69 Rambler and cleaned it up. Put the same new points and condenser in it. Plenty of fire and cranked right up. I am perplexed as to what I did to fix Rapid ?? I didn't think there was anything electronic in the distributor. What's your thoughts?

My tractor exhaust pipe is not going to cut it any more on Rapid Delivery. With my new white paint job it is getting soot on it from the exhaust. Not noticeable on the old crappy brown paint.

The new 69 Rambler to the rescue. Cut out the exhaust header and the mount bracket and mounted same to Rapid.

Called my muffler man and he can't get to Rapid until next week. Gee, I wonder if he has a muffler that will make Rapid sound like a 401?

Looking forward to Saturday as it will be Rapids first car show.
