i have a 68 cj5 with the 225 buick v6,the rear main seal is leaking,the repair book only shows it replaced with the crank removed.i know on the amc v8 you can loosen some of the main caps and get the seal in place,anyone know if you can do that on the buick 225 v6? i gotta get the fixed asap so thanks for any help

Yes you can, get the seal kit (seals & pan Gasket)and remove pan and rear main. If you do not have a rear main seal R&R tool set, use a small brass punch and pinch nose vise grips to remove seal, install oiled and turn crank while installing.
When doing this you may or may not need to undo the other bearing caps. |

Some of those have a tarpaper rear seal. If you get the neoprene replacement, crank removal isn't needed.
