Are the 6cyl oil pump gears the same as the V8 oil pump gears.
Is the shaft longer.

Bottom line is I have new v8 oil pump gears but looking to install the 6cly this weekend.
Please advise asap

The answer to your question as best as possible is no.
The V8 oil pump is contained with in and part of the timing gear cover and water pump housing that sits on the front of the engine. The I-6 oil pump is contained in the middle of the engine an is a self contained unit. The only commonality that exists between the two is they are both called an oil pump.
