I need a picture of a starter solenoid installed for my 78 Concord build...I do not want to install it up side down...It`s been years since i removed it

The mounting tab mounts under the solenoid, so that the small terminals are facing up.

If it's a stick they stick OUT, not up - because there's no terminal on the back so it looks a bit different than one for an automatic of that year. They are facing the engine or pointing to it, but at the top side. The silver plate that is riveted to the solenoid (not the bracket that bolts to the fender) is always downward. that's the easiest way to remember. The bottom has a square metal plate usually with a round bulge and a rivet in the middle and that goes down. The mounting bracket is always the top when it's mounted. Some mount at a sort of angle because there's a terminal on the back, and some mount straight up and down because there's no terminal. |
