Its funny, I don't know what the idle is...I have exactly the same tach that's in the real TA Javelin.  Its a Stewart Warner mechanical tach driven off the distributor.  There is no zero...it starts at 1,000 rpm and at idle it bounces all around.  My guess is idle is 2K

i have a new favorite AMC car. Your silver jav was my other favorite. I wonder if the original TA car made that much power?

I visit the Historic races each year at Road America, and there is nothing better than sitting at pit-out. watching the cars do final prep and warm up for the session or race.
There is NO better sound on the planet than the TA cars and the CAN-AM cars firing up, taking to the track. Those monsters sit at rough idle getting warm, then they blip the throttle, and it blasts to 6K in about a millisecond and settle back to idle just as quick.

Youre car may sound more CAN-AM than Trans-Am with that wicked exhaust!

Here's a little short video of the Javelin after I got a few things sorted out.  You can hear the exhaust a little better when I recorded it from a little distance...its so loud it overwhelms the microphone in the camera.

So you have a stock 360 bore, and a custom short stroke crank?

The block started out life as a 360 bore.  The bore now is exactly 4.125 and the bore is 2.850. If my math is right, that's 304.7 cid.
