I purchased this 68 AMX/Auto two weeks ago. It's been setting for over 20+ years in a building. The owner was in a slow process of a restoration. Sadly he passed away just over 3 years ago. He had completed the interior and added new bushings in the front suspension. I was able to get an early 390 with the car and an M12 Borg Warner automatic. The deck lid and hood have been changed but the remaining body still retains the original Matador Red paint.
I started the disassemble of the 390 and found it to be an all standard spec block. If everything measures out...it will stay standard. It's been a while since I had a two seater and this one will remain in the family.       |

Yes...it shows a rebuild with the bearings...we will measure everything out...the cylinders look great. I hope it will stay standard...won't take anything away if I can help it....Plans are cleaning, polish and honing. |

Very Nice! Looks like my Matador Red 68, white stripes & all, except mine has the T-10. The original 390 is also a great score, lucky to find one that hasn't been bored already. The cylinders in the 390 in my Rally Green 68 were just cleaned up with a ball hone, original pistons/new rings/bearings/etc and it runs great. Good luck with your 2 seater!
