Anyone know of a good place online to get air conditioning hoses made up? I need a new low-pressure hose to go from the compressor to the condenser on a 1983 Concord that I'm working on. (Other hoses are recent and still good, this one is old and leaky, probably original.)

I used to just take old A/C hoses to NAPA and they could rebuild them, make a custom hose, or provide the bulk hose and appropriate barbed fittings to make a replacement. At NAPA this afternoon though I was summarily told: "Nobody does that any more." (!)

Of course a Google search returns a number of companies that can provide this service. Anyone know of a particularly good one to use? (Or a bad one to avoid?) Any other alternative, like just ordering a length of 13/32" A/C hose and barbed fittings? (I'm not sure of the fitting sizes on this thing.)

I asked a friend with a local garage and he referred me to a shop in Rochester that specializes in AC repairs. They made up everything I needed and were very cordial about it, with what I thought was a low price. Unless you are very far from a city, there should be someone locally who can make up a hose.

We have a few mining and farm equipment repair parts places around here. One of them is an Aeroquip dealer.  So make sure you check for farming and equipment supply places. Generally if you have it done online, you send them the old hose and pray they get the ends clocked properly, or if working with new stuff you use a white paint marker from fitting to hose to show how to clock the ends.

Check with your local Auto Parts Stores such as NAPA, O'Reilly, etc....  There are many such stores that have the crimper and hose accessories. I had 2 A/C lines made for a 66 CHarge at NAPA store. I had to take a ride past 2 other NAPA stores, but still, there are many stores that offer this non-advertised service.
