401 engine for sale. $1800 firm. Watch video!

Hello guys I was holding on to this engine as a back up that I would redo over time because I bought one that was rebuilt already. but need the cash so I'm selling one of my 401 engines. So from what I've seen the prices on these have gone way up. The engine looks like it was a runner before I bought it and tore it down, my plan was to modify it so I was going to go through it completely anyway... but since I got the other one and I don't need two of them and I could use the cash right now, I'm letting this one go.  It is a 77 block 3198951 it is 0.030 overbored. if your more comfortable with engines then me, you can just polish the crank and hone it, throw some new rings and bearings and call it done, This was going to be my first full overhaul and I wasn't confident enough to ever do it myself.. The rods are 0.020 and the mains are 0.030 the bores feel nice and there are king bearings available to go the next step up (rods to 0.030 and mains to 0.040) if you want to do a full rebuild.. I'm now only asking for $1800 that is a $500 price drop from my original asking price, my loss is literally your gain. I've seen bare blocks sell for $1000 my original price was fair, this is now a bargain, first one to come with cash can have it. I also accept zelle, cash app and paypal with additional fee unless you use friends and family.

Nobody wants a 401 huh, amazing.

Problem is it’s 30 over, if it needs to be bored it can be no good depending on the defects. I had a fresh 401 that the shop did me a favor and bored it 60 coz they didn’t think I’d sleeve one hole. Ended up giving it away as pistons are a custom deal and the heat issues.  That was my experience 

David, is this the engine you bought in San Diego in 2018?
