 I have a good used 72 Hornet/Gremlin? switch available that's been tested if anyone needs it I bought from a member here a few years ago.

The upshot of all this is to NOT throw away a bad switch. It; most likely can be repaired. Just as an FYI, 1967, 68 and, possibly 69, big body cars: Rebel, Ambassador, Marlin with electric wipers also used an electrically identical switch. I would assume parts can be swapped around between the various versions to repair a faulty switch.
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

I have made a working switch from 2 broken ones for 68-69 AMX/Jav.  The shaft was locked-up/broken on one and I don't recall the details, but there was some kind of cam-like affair in the section of the rotation to turn it off that was broken in the other.  Looks a little sketchy as you have to carefully bend the housing out/back-in to hold it together.  Just keeping it for a spare, but have fully tested it with a motor and it seems to work fine.
