Here's a little know story about Dick Teague. A friend of mine, who has since passed away, named Art Richards had a custom corvette shop in Orange County California. He did lots of crazy custom vette's for his customers through the 70's and into the 80's. When he retired to Fallbrook, California he brought home the wildest vette he had ever built. As it turn out, Dick Teague, who also retired to Fallbrook, was his neighbor. Art would go over to Dick's house and admire the AMX/3. When Dick would go to Art's house he would admire his custom vette. Dick talked about buying the car many times, but never did. Tom Ricotta, showed me the pictures of the custom vette this afternoon. enjoy!

As the owner of several different Corvettes over the last 45 years, that is one of the ugliest ones that I have ever seen.

Funny. I am no fan of the C8, but that thing is worse, in my opinion. It is "Corvette Summer" movie bad.

I also noticed some resemblance to "Corvette Summer". It's over the top for sure. You would be sure to get a lot of attention. I like the C8.

Dick, who had very good design taste, must have said that just to flatter his neighbor. How could Dick, who designed the beautiful AMX/3, possibly stomach the looks of that hideous Vette much less want to own it. (No offense, as Rodney Dangerfield once said.)
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

It looks like they took every leftover piece they had in the shop and fastened it onto the car somewhere.  Kind of an automotive version of a collage.

Maybe they raided the Von Piranha AMX for some spares?
