While I have been going through things at my mom's house (aside from the parts I had stashed, Promo models and the drag raceing trophies over there) I have run across some pretty neat stuff from my parents AMC dealership.
This is from my dads first dealership (Willys, Jeep) back in the late 50's early 60's ?? Check out the phone number in the second picture!! A pot holder!! Found this in my mom's kitchen. Phone number is old scool on this too!! This pen shows the new address, but the old "Rambler" name. "Rambler" was later changed to "Motors" Also ran across something that some of you here will remember or have seen before. Specs. with each click of the pen. All of that stuff is very cool, especially the pen, which I've never seen before.
Why does the yard stick have a bunch of holes in it?

I think you would use the holes to draw circles of various diameters. Put the first hole over a nail or screw and swing your radius.

I’ve seen those yard sticks with holes in old machine shops used to store/sort valves during a rebuild.

He played football for General Robert Neyland at the Univ of Tennessee and later became our high school football coach. You need to remember that back then, the coaches were tough with a capital T. General Neyland was about like Bear Bryant was at Texas A&M. Look up Bear Bryant and the Junction Boys. Our teacher was so tough that he got fired from coaching in the late 1950's, and it was hard to get fired for abuse then. What cost him his job was attacking a fan of the other team and putting him in the hospital after being called a name. There is a picture of his paddle in the high school yearbook. It had about a 5 inch handle and the hitting end was about 12-14 inches long, 5 inches wide and about an inch thick.
