Guys, I'm thinking of lowering my "68" - All is stock right now - coil/trunion front - leaf back.
The idea is to lower both 1.5" - 2". Any experience and advice would be grateful. I've read some cthreads in the past, but wasn't interested at the time. Again Thanks in advance Gary

Lowering plates are an easy way to adjust the front because you don't need to remove the springs. The brakes need to be removed and then a plate is used to raise the 'spindle' relative to the 'knuckle'. This has apparently been done for years and is a reliable method of lowering. There is a member selling the lowering plates in the 'for sale' section. Two versions are available, 1-5/8" drop and 2.5" drop. There should be other threads available in the suspension section that will describe the install.
On my car, I replaced the springs, so I ordered 2" lower springs in the rear. I don't know if others have used lowering blocks or other methods to adjust rear ride height without changing springs. Mike |

I had a set of springs that had a little too much lift for my taste. I used lowering blocks for an S10 to drop it about an inch. S10 blocks are available in lots of heights. Cheap and relatively easy.

I've got a set of (i believe they're Belltech ) blocks that are 1.5" for the rear - I've had them for awhile but haven't put them on - because I want to do the front at the same time.
Thanks for the input - I like that you've done it with little problem. |

OK - I've got 225/60/R15 front & 255/60/r15 rear- 15" x 7" wheel.
I think I should be ok from the measurements I've taken. It's hard to tell on the 68 - but I definetly like the look of the 70. Thanks for the pic's and the info. I'm trying to reach the man who has the plates - like I said I've got the blocks.

I just ordered a set of plates last week and already have them. It took him a couple of days to get back to me. I’m pretty sure he responded first to my PM. Honestly, I sent him PayPal at the same time as I sent the PM. He has said he has them in stock and he includes his pricing and PayPal ID. Mike
