Does anybody know if it is possible to make a pacer hood open from the front?
I really like my pacer but I hate the fact that it opens from the rear.
It makes it so hard to access the engine compartment.
I know that some would call this thought blasphemy but so what.

Think its best to leave it alone.   Cutting and welding just to change on what end it opens is stupid.

I would think that if the hood were ‘reversed’, the angle at the back would make access challenging with ~1/3 of the engine tucked under the cowl. Unless it were done like a Jeep and it flipped straight up or backwards over the roof.

When I had my ‘77 Pacer I actually liked the fact that the hood opened up from the rear - with it straight up I could get at pretty much everything without bonking my head. To each his own, though.

Thanks, That's a thought that had not occurred to me. Quite practical. I'll consider it.

The problem with using only hood pins is that sometimes you forget.
I've done it myself,  at the track,  and every year at least one car does it.
Really makes a mess of the hood, windshield, roof.

As have I many years ago. Not fun when the hood flys up.

Great idea. Flush hood pins. I will probably go for them. Thanks!
