Mate, I used a 6 cyl Falcon bottom radiator hose on my American, the only problem was the radiator end of the hose was a bit too large for the radiator outlet(fitted the water pump end perfectly) So, I slid a 2 or 3 inch piece of hose, that fitted the radiator up inside the falcon hose and glued it in there to act as a sleeve. Has been on a few years now and not leaked a drop.

Hi there. Just joined today. I was in the NSW Hornet club way back in 1990 and I have some old newsletters and one has a list of parts interchangeability or easily made to fit. Some may have already been listed on your forum. From newsletter May 1990. Wheel studs = Ford/Valiant, Shocks = XY-XF Ford, Rear stabiliser bar = Ford XA-XF, Selby's make front stabilisers to order (although I don't think they are called Selby's now), Blinker return springs in column = HQ-HX & LC-LX, Master cylinder HQ to HX, HQ steering box (steering knuckle to be Holden item), Front wheel bearings HQ-HX (seals are Repco 4750), Rear leaf springs equal to Holden Ute/tonner- not yet proven?, Front springs= Nissan Patrol, Brake Booster= HK/T/G Disc brake should bolt straight up, HQ V8 radiator, Strut Rod bushes best so far (in 1990 of course) are Ford F350 with some slight trimming. Hope this may help someone but remember this is a list from 1990 so better items may have been discovered since then.
And just quickly what is "BBcodes"? and should I untick or tick?

Anyone know if disc pads from early XR-XT Falcons fit '69 Javelin? I thought Fords used the same BendixFord calipers?

Hello Rambler fans. Is there a master cylinder out there I can put straight onto my 71 Matador brake booster. It is a disc/drum set up. I have been told that a rebuild kit for my m/ cylinder is no longer available. Does anyone know what brand my original one is?Cheers:)

Just went down to local spare parts place (Bursons) and matched up rear Hornet slave cylinders and linings as same as Ford XA etc V8 items. Linings Bendix #BS1271, and cylinders IBS Brake parts #P5748. Does anyone know if Ford rear brake drums will fit?

No they don't and no they don't The AMC Bendix are pretty much stand alone. You need pads Bendix #S731. Some other manufacturers have number PF-18 or D-18. |
